JAPAN BEING SUED BY DEATH ROW INMATES?!

Two Death row inmates on Japan's death row are suing the government. WHY? Because they say it is inhumane and unconstitutional for inmates to be notified the same day as their execution. Sometimes the prisoners are notified with just hours left until they are set to die.

I once did a story on Marriette Bosch of Botswana and she was also executed on short notice. Her family had arrived at the prison for a scheduled visitation time but they found out she was already executed.

Do you guys think prisoners deserve to know far in advance when their execution date is? Do they need time to come to terms with the date? Is it fair that it's short notice because they gave their victims short notice of their deaths?

Let me know what you guys think it the comments below.

Hi Air! I do believe giving some notice is humane which may upset people but please hear me out. They didn't give their victims notice, but I would want to rise above them. The family of the condemned didn't commit a crime. i believe they should have the right to say goodbye. I've lost family suddenly and long for the chance to say goodbye. I say be better than the murderer and let their family say goodbye.

Hey Air I don't think it's unfair personally it sickens me that the preparator has more rights than their victims what I find unfair is in your article it said that a family had came for a scheduled visit but the person was already executed I don't think that's right but in the same breath the victims families never got a chance to say goodbye so that's kind of a hard one isn't it kind of ironic that most killers don't want to die ❤️🙏🏾

HEY Adreana. Thank you for leaving a comment. Yea, when I did that story a lot of people felt she deserved to be executed but thought it was unfair that her family didn't get to say goodbye.

I'm not even sure if they have appeals or how their system works over there. Ty for commenting William

Imagine they get executed before their case is heard though.

I think short to no notice is probably safer for the prison. Less chance of an inmate attempting self harm or fighting back by attempting to plot some kind of escape (if they have to be transferred to another prison for the execution). I don’t think they deserve a long notice but maybe morning or notify the person who will be responsible for the body after the execution and then I’m ok with the inmate having the same notice. Morning of tell them and then if they want to call someone or speak with a religious advisor ok but I’m ok with little notice

Thank you so much Lauren for leaving a comment. You brought up a very good point. Not all prisons are the same and it could possibly being about some chaos if they knew earlier. Maybe it is set up that way for a reason
